Old Filipino Courtship Rituals: Wild, Pare

Unlike the kind of dating we have now, Filipinos then believed in ligaw or courting. This tradition involves a boy send gifts to his object of affection as well as do her and her family's every bidding. In the preface of Quijano de Manila's Reportage on Lovers, the intensity of courtship-related tasks is clearly illustrated:
