Lessons from 2009

Since this time of the year usually involves making lists, I decided to join the bandwagon and make a year-end list of stuff that proved to be useful nuggets of wisdom. Yeah, sure, a couple of years ago, I was into making the heroes and villains list but surprisingly, I grew up and became less bitter and more emotionally stable. So let me share the stuff I learned this year:

- The adik magic/wave is kind to those who deserve it. Be it for good or bad, it really does take you places.

- Friends may need rescuing even when they don't realize it.

- The wingman may do everything right but when the player fails, the game's done.

- Friendships could start from the strangest thing.

- Just because you haven't seen each other in years doesn't mean that the friendship is over.

- In every circle of friends there's a whore.

- No matter how old you are or how experienced you think you are dealing with parents, they could always throw verbal curveballs at you that you won't even know how to answer.

- Not all jellyfish are belligerent creatures.

- Babies are not evil creatures...until they throw a tantrum.

- Karma can come in form of situation or person.

- Domesticity is not that bad. I can now bake my own giant blueberry muffins whenever the need arises.

- Your family loves you more than you think.

So, boys and girls, here's to 2009! To the year of love, open bars, and helmet-requiring adventures. Cheers!
